Introducing the Olde School Artistry Shoppe!
We are starting small with the hopes of creating a local source for all the traditional craft tools and supplies that, as of now, would have to be ordered online. We don’t have plans to sell online or ship products outside our local community, as many other retailers are already doing that job. Our desire is to connect with our community face to face and provide a valuable resource right here in Lindale, TX.
The Shoppe will have regular open hours every Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
at our location in the Journey Center at 215 W Margaret St in Lindale, TX.

Some items we currently offer:
a selection of lap looms and potholder looms from Friendly Loom
a small selection of 100% wool yarn for weaving
various craft books - crochet, weaving, sewing
crochet kits - granny squares & amigurumi
We are also excited to announce that Olde School Artistry is now an official local dealer for Ashford products.
Tools & Materials
For sewing tools and accessories, we have been impressed with the selection at Madam Sew. Tip: they offer a discount on your first order for new email subscribers.
We are so grateful to the team at Exotic Fiber for donating fiber samples to help us build our “Where Do Clothes Come From?” program. Check out their website for a great selection of natural fibers.

We love this little loom from Boom Loom and will be using them in many of our introductory weaving classes.
Books
Adventures in Yarn Farming is a lovely coffee-table-worthy book about fiber farming with beautiful photography and real life information about raising your own natural fibers.
For a few great books on visible mending, check out Mending Matters and Make Thrift Mend, both by Katrina Rodabaugh.
If you want to take a deep dive into the textile industry, slow fashion, and natural fibers, Fibershed by Rebecca Burgess is packed with information.

Local Resources

Vanora Studio - An artisan boutique focused on natural fiber clothing and small batch, local production, located in Winnsboro. They also offer various fiber arts classes in their studio space. We look forward to collaborating!
